About Me

Saturday Song – “Magnificent” by U2

Quite simply one of the best worship songs that many churches won’t sing (but ours would).

This week people will go to work, mill around the house, read, grocery shop, make and miss deadlines and goals, and wait until Sunday morning to “worship.” In doing so, we will miss life-transforming encounters with God. We will miss the chance to worship our Creator. Find 10 people on the street, ask them their purpose, some will have answers and some will ponder, very few will say I was born to praise God. Yet the scriptures repeatedly tell us that that is precisely our purpose. U2 reminds us to do so as well.

Magnificent
Magnificent

I was born
I was born to be with you
In this space and time
After that and ever after I haven’t had a clue
Only to break rhyme
This foolishness can leave a heart black and blue

Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love can heal such a scar

I was born
I was born to sing for you
I didn’t have a choice but to lift you up
And sing whatever song you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise

Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love can heal such a scar

Justified till we die, you and I will magnify
The Magnificent
Magnificent

Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love unites our hearts

Justified till we die, you and I will magnify
The Magnificent
Magnificent
Magnificent

What do you think? What songs remind you of the beauty and glory of God the Creator?

Love the U2 song. Love Bono. He was a speaker at the Baylor Leadership Conference a few years ago that Zoe and Terry always go to. You might like to go with them this year. They always have a well known Christian group lead the worship at that conference too. You are doing an awesome job on the All In Series. Love it!
