We’re now in the season of Lent. One part of the Lenten season I love is the renewed commitment many of us make to the discipline of spiritual practices.
My favorite Lenten practice is “Lectio Divina,” called by some “Divine Reading.” I use it for nearly all my preaching and teaching preparation. For me, all preparation begins with listening. Listening, first to God, then the text, and finally to others who have reflected on both God and the text. The initial process I use is called “Lectio Divina.”
Here’s a short video describing how to practice “Lectio Divina” yourself.
